How to Install on WP Engine

Because WP Engine is a premium managed WordPress hosting provider, the most robust and secure method to install our widget is using a dedicated header/footer plugin. This ensures your code remains intact during theme updates and doesn't interfere with WP Engine's high-performance server configurations.

1Step 1: Copy Your Unique Snippet

First, you need to retrieve the unique code snippet that connects your website to our platform.

  1. 1.Log in to your Bizfinder dashboard.
  2. 2.Navigate to the Installation or Setup tab.
  3. 3.Locate and copy your unique code snippet. It should look exactly like this:

2Step 2: Add the Code to WordPress via WP Engine

Since WP Engine provides a managed environment, we recommend using the WPCode plugin to safely manage your scripts.

  1. 1.Log in to your WP Engine User Portal.
  2. 2.Select your environment (Production, Staging, or Development) and click WordPress Admin to log into your site.
  3. 3.On the left-hand sidebar, go to Plugins > Add New.
  4. 4.Search for "WPCode" and click Install Now, then Activate.
  5. 5.Once activated, navigate to the new Code Snippets menu in your sidebar and select Header & Footer.
  6. 6.Paste your unique snippet into the Footer box.
  7. 7.Click Save Changes.
We recommend the Footer to ensure your primary content loads with the high speed WP Engine is known for, followed immediately by the widget.

3Step 3: Verify Your Installation

WP Engine uses powerful proprietary caching (EverCache). To see your widget immediately, you may need to clear your site cache.

  1. 1.In your WordPress Admin bar at the top, hover over WP Engine.
  2. 2.Click Purge All Caches.
  3. 3.Open your live website in a new browser window.
  4. 4.Look for the Preview Assistant icon appearing in the bottom corner of your screen (usually the bottom right).
  5. 5.Click the icon to test the interface. If the chat window opens, your installation is successful!

4Customize Further
